After having a lot of fun with the Ogroid Thaumaturge (previous post), I immediately picked up the Ogroid Myrmidon.
The style I had in mind for this one, was more towards grimdark: much less vibrant colors and very atmospheric lighting.
Assembling and priming
After assembling the model, I glue it on a temporary base, one that is a bit smaller than the supplied one, this makes handling easier (💡).
Next step is a black primer — glossy this time. At this point, I didn’t know what would make an interesting lighting scheme. Only that I wanted to work with a warm light source and a cooler secondary light.
A glossy primer reflects more light, so helps on my next step: I picked two lights and started taking pictures of different angles of the model to explore what lighting would work.
After this exercise, I used some white ink in the airbrush to put this light scheme onto my model
